Adult EducationWe are a community of lifelong learners, who believe that Judaism School is not just a kids’ endeavor. At Beth El, we offer an ongoing Havdalah adult education series on select Saturday evenings, where we welcome guest speakers and authors on topics ranging from Kafka to Dylan to Israel to Iraq to the Ba’al Shem Tov to Spinoza. There are ongoing classes on Biblical Hebrew and Jewish Mysticism. Every few months there is a Friday evening adult ed outreach event in Williamstown, MA, Wilmington, VT, or Cambridge, NY – usually taught by Rabbi Boettiger or our rabbinic intern. On Green Mountain Shabbats, we have adult electives featuring a regular Torah study, and also discussions led by community members. Each summer, Rabbi Boettiger teaches a three or four session class on a particular topic. This summer’s class (2010) will be “King David: The Baffled King composing Hallelujah.” |
