Shabbat Morning Services and Weekly Torah

Shabbat morning services are a voyage of discovery. We begin with the morning blessings and Pesukei d’Zimrah, the Psalms of praise, and move through the Barechu, the call to prayer. We enter the sanctuary as individuals, but through the Barechu a community is created.

The Shema and Amidah follow and bring us to the Torah service. The D’var Torah leads into the community Torah discussion where we share our thoughts and reactions to the week’s portion. Shabbat services can also include the Haftarah portion, songs and music and guest speakers.

We end the morning with introductions and blessings, then share a Kiddush together. Saturday morning services are the central event in the Beth El week.
