Annual Retreat

Each week we celebrate Shabbat in our historic sanctuary—except for one weekend in the spring, when we move to Pompanuck Farm in nearby New York for our congregation retreat. Here, we experience multiple ways of “doing Shabbat” ranging from prayer and Torah study to chicken chasing and hula hoops. Although a new tradition, it has quickly become a central piece of our community, a place to unwind, to connect, to schmooze and nosh. Each year a group of congregants has shared the stories of their own Jewish journeys. Other activities have included tai ji, nature walks, circus training, and lag ba’omer haircuts.
