As an inclusive and welcoming community for individuals and families, our members have followed a wide variety of paths: some were raised Jewish, some are unfamiliar with the synagogue or the liturgy, while others are part of an interfaith family. All are welcome, whatever spiritual path or tradition one has followed. This is your community, and you belong here.
We believe that it is as part of a community that we can best express and develop our spiritual paths. We always welcome visitors and guests to our services, but believe that membership is, in the end, both necessary and significant, implying a level of commitment to the community that sustains it for the good of all.
Our approach is one of partnership and participation. It is in partnership with each other that we learn; it is through participation with each other that we grow; it is together that we begin to understand not only Judaism, but also humanity. We are all each other's partners, and CBE is your partner, too.
There are many ways to partner with the CBE Community, and CBE offers an innovative and affordable partnership structure to meet the changing needs of our community. Based on a Voluntary Pledge model with different levels, we strive to welcome all who wish to be part of our growing congregation, and no one will ever be turned away for financial reasons. We are happy to work with you to find a sustainable partnership.
Levels of Partnership
- Full Partners - Full Partners receive all benefits including: attendance at all services and events; guests for High Holidays; education programs; pastoral care; digital access; use of the sanctuary and social hall for life-cycle events; voting privileges, and discounted cemetery plots.
- Visiting Partners - For those who are in the area seasonally or are members of other synagogues or minyans. Includes attendance at services, High Holidays, pastoral support and programs, as well as the ability to participate in services or education programs via Zoom.
- Family Partners - A discounted partnership for families with school-aged children.
- Digital Partners - An online partnership for those who live at a distance to enjoy select services, events and programs via Zoom only.
- Student/Volunteer Partners- For those who would like to participate in our congregation, but whose finances are limited, we offer deeply discounted Volunteer and Student partnerships.
